About Sensei Meir's Karate & Self-Defense 

 

Sensei Meir's Karate and Self-Defense is owned by Meir Breuer. Sensei Meir has been serving the community and teaching karate for over 25 years. It has been his mission to help develop individuals of all ages to their fullest potential, utilizing the time-proven martial art of the Tora Dojo karate system. Senei Meir has always been dedicated to grow his dojo to have the largest impact possible and offer the highest quality level of training and education. He not only offers an effective self-defense program for both children and adults, but also a comprehensive curriculum for personal growth and development, such as: confidence builing, repsect for self and others, leadership, integrity, goal setting, honor and self discipline. 

 

During karate classes, Sensei Meir empahsizes having respect for others, both inside and outside of the dojo (karate class). He also customizes the classes to each indivdiual's needs. For example, when teaching children, Sensei Meir often keeps close contact with parents with offering feedback and suggestions that would best help their child improve their skills. 

 

About Sensei Meir

 

Sensei Meir has been a martial art practitioner for over 30 years studying with Grand Master professor Haim Sober, founder of the Tora Dojo karate system. In addition Sensei Meir has studied with Master Daniel Segarra, specializing in areas such as 'Stranger Smarts”, “School-yard Smarts", as well as areas of basic practical weapon defense, some of which include gun, knife, and stick defense. Sensei Meir has also been studying Chi-gung and meditation for over twenty years.  .

 

Sensei Meir started as an assistant Karate teacher at age 15 at Yeshiva University’s College karate class. He has worked with many populations including Kulanu School for Children with special needs as well as Camp Simchah Chai Life Line. Currently Sensei Meir runs karate classes both during and after school activities in Long Island, New York. He also offers in home private lessons for both children and adults.
